In March 1949,Mitsugu Tanabe founded TANABE MERIYASU in Fukui,Japan, starting with 3 knitting machines in a small room. Jackman’s sewing plant now has over 60 years history. It has the modern machineries as well as old and specialised sewing machines such as “Union Special” and “REECE”.
The company has won many awards in Japan along side being one of the offical suppliers of the Japanese national team for Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.

Ribbed T–shirt with claw jersey. By knitting slowly with a loop knitting machine, the stitches are evenly packed, making it less likely to shrink or warp even after repeated wear and washing. In addition to the sense of security that sweat stains are less noticeable due to the thickness of the fabric, the tightness of the ribs creates a puffy, sweat–like form, reducing the amount of surface that adheres to the skin. It has a more spacious size than a short–sleeved pocket T–shirt made of the same material, and has gussets on the front and back of the neck.
