In March 1949,Mitsugu Tanabe founded TANABE MERIYASU in Fukui,Japan, starting with 3 knitting machines in a small room. Jackman’s sewing plant now has over 60 years history. It has the modern machineries as well as old and specialised sewing machines such as “Union Special” and “REECE”.
The company has won many awards in Japan along side being one of the offical suppliers of the Japanese national team for Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.

A sweat crew neck made of fleece material knitted using an old–fashioned sinker knitting machine, the Azuma knitting machine. Old–fashioned knitting machines cannot be set numerically and require maintenance, but the fabric that is knitted by skilled craftsmen with a sense of skin and accumulated technology has a classical look. This time, in order to create the same atmosphere of the 1970s as the era of knitting machines, the product is dyed with pigment bio after sewing. It has a unique unevenness and fading effect. The loose design of the 1970s, when there were many athletic–style designs, and the inset big gusset specification that supports the expansion and contraction of the ribs when putting on and taking off, preventing the neck from stretching.
