- Oliver Peoples started in 1986 when opticians Larry and Dennis Leight fulfilled their dream and opened their first boutique on legendary Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Earier that year they had purchased an estate collection of vintage american made eyewear. It was a goldmine for the Leight's and set them up to design their own vintage inspired collections.
