Eiffel Peached Cotton Oxford Guaya Shirt
The Blueprint: The Reimagined Guayabera
The name of the shirt is a direct nod to the Guayabera—the traditional Cuban, Mexican, and Caribbean dress shirt known for its vertical lines of pleated or embroidered strips (alforzas) and multiple patch pockets.
However, instead of standard decorative pleating, Kroll and Newman use a stroke of utilitarian genius:
The “Guaya” Strips: The characteristic vertical stripes running down the front of the shirt are actually constructed using industrial elastic buttonhole tape sewn flat to the body. This heavy, elasticized utility tape gives the shirt a rugged, mechanical aesthetic that replaces traditional embroidery with structural, industrial trim.
The Silhouette: It is cut as a generous, boxy overshirt with a relaxed collar
