Filmelange was born in the Spring of 2007 and taking it’s name from the mixed colour thread that in previous times was widely used in T–Shirt and sweatshirt production. Filmelange conducts thorough in–house development of the fabric, threads and production techniques that are used by their highly trained craftsmen. Original melange spun yarn knitted on loop wheel machines using organic “Raffy Cotton”, an exclusive blended yarn spun by using 50% new organic cotton and 50% recycled organic cotton with a vintage feel / Mock neck / Slightly dropped chest pocket. Custom dyed
Raffy” was developed in the 1990’s as the first yarn in the world that embraces the concept of recycling and the feel of vintage. ”Raffy” reuses waste cotton, which is scraped off during the manufacturing process of producing yarn. Since the waste cotton contains a lot off short fibers, that naturally have unevenness, the feeling of vintage” is achieved.
