Established in Antwerp in 1981 as Morrison Ltd, along side their own knitwear they also produced for the likes of DVN. In 2009 the two sons Jan and Patrick started a new label called Howlin’. The way of manufacturing remains traditional but Howlin’ offers more room for fantasy in shape and pattern. All their products are individually manufactured and hand finished by traditionally skilled craftsmen in either Scotland, Ireland or Belgium using the highest quality yarns possible.

Mystic Violet Shaggy Bear Knit

 

The Shaggy Bear sweater draws inspiration from the classic Ivy Shetland Shaggy
Dog, an iconic piece in American university fashion. It blends tradition with modernity, giving it a modern twist while respecting the heritage. More than just a piece of knitwear, the Shaggy Bear symbolizes a classic legacy reimagined for the contemporary individual who values both the past and the present. This truly unique piece of knitwear is 100% made in Scotland by master crafts people. The real thing, made by and for lovers.

The main distinction of Howlin’s ‘Birth Of The Cool’ lies in the fact that we knit these using a heavier marled Shetland yarn. Additionally it is given extra brushing to make the finish even fussier (Shaggy Bear)
