*A Vontade draws it’s inspiration from the utilitarian aspects of classic US and European Military, workwear and sportswear items. With meticulous attention paid to the smallest details they strive to create a garment that still has worth and relevance with the passing of time and developing still greater character with wear. Designed by Kazuyuki Yamakawa and always made in Japan.

Indigo Coal Mine Jeans

These five–pocket pants were inspired by the jeans worn by coal miners in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The original 13.5oz denim is carefully woven on a shuttle loom using Zimbabwean long–staple cotton for the warp and un–breeded natural brown cotton for the weft. The surface is not singed, but rather has been specially sanforized to create a slight twist when washed. The pants feature a deep indigo color and a subtle vertical fade.
The rise is slightly high, and the pants have a wide, straight silhouette with just the right amount of room from the thigh to the hem. Instead of the back yoke that is typical of jeans, darts are added vertically and horizontally to create a relaxed, three–dimensional fit around the hips. The design is original, while still retaining the image of the time, with original iron tack buttons, punched rivets, two–needle buckles, and narrow stitching.

Postage within the UK is £8.00 and will be provided by DHL EXPRESS – a fully tracked next business day service. If we receive your order by 12.00pm Monday – Friday, we will get it to you next business day. If you order after 12.00pm on Friday then your order will leave on the following Monday.
