Sumikuro Reversible Hunting Jacket (09–J02)
Based on a 1950s driver’s jacket, this piece has been reconstructed with a relaxed silhouette that merges elements of traditional tailoring with rugged workwear. It is a modern interpretation of the work jacket, striking a perfect balance between refinement and utility. The front features four pockets in total, including two–tier patch pockets inspired by vintage hunting jackets, blending high storage capacity with a distinct design aesthetic. The garment features Mus?–shitate (double–faced) construction using different materials for the interior and exterior, making it fully reversible. The reverse side is also equipped with large patch pockets. Due to the differing shrinkage rates between the two fabrics, the lining naturally peeks out from the hem, creating a unique, layered visual effect. The face fabric is a vintage–style cotton Bafu (Horse Cloth), crafted from high–density, raw–textured yarns. The lining consists of a thick, smooth cotton Sleek. Both fabrics are characterized by natural wrinkling and a rich, tactile feel developed after the dyeing process. Finished entirely with botanical dyes, the natural pigments create subtle irregularities and “fluctuations” in tone, ensuring that every individual garment possesses its own unique character.
