Awa Shoai Kakishibu Dyed Denim Jacket (D4615)
For the warp threads, this jacket features yarn dyed using “Awa Shoai” (Awa Natural Indigo Dyeing), a traditional Japanese technique revered worldwide. Because a deep, rich color cannot be achieved in a single dip, artisans meticulously repeat the process of “dipping,” “wringing,” and “drying” dozens of times. Through this rigorous and patient handcrafting, a multi–dimensional, deep indigo tone gradually emerges.
For the weft threads, we use hand–dyed “Kakishibu” (persimmon tannin) yarn. Hand–dyed yarns are naturally thicker than machine–dyed ones and possess a distinct, irregular texture. This creates a beautifully uneven, high–slub fabric that sets itself completely apart from standard 15oz denim.
SDA invite you to fully experience and enjoy the overwhelming, unparalleled fade and rich texture that only this unique denim can offer.
